| BIOGRAPHY Ceren Aksan was born in Ankara in 1981, the daughter of a ballerina mother and Tonmeister father. She took her first steps into the music scene by taking violin, piano lessons at the age of 9.
While attending elementary school in 1991, she was accepted to Ankara Conservatory, to study violin with Prof. Engin Eralp. From 1996 on she continued her studies with Professor Cengiz Ozkok, the Presidential Symphony Orchestra Concertmaster. In addition to studying with renowned teachers during her education at the conservatory, she also took advantage of opportunities to work with such preeminent artists/teachers as Suna Kan and David Lukas by attending their workshops.
She received her BA in violin performance in 2001 from Hacettepe University Conservatory. Upon her graduation she became a member of Hacettepe Akademic Symphony Orchestra. While she was a member of the symphony orchestra she began earning her Masters degree. During these years of studying and working, she gave concerts on both domestic and international tours with H.U.D.K Orchestra. She also gave many concerts with trio/quartet ensembles.
Throughout her stage career, she has played extensively both domestically and internationally, attended tours and recorded with internationally acclaimed conductors and soloists, with orchestras such as the Presidential Symphony Orchestra, Borusan Istanbul Philarmonic Orchestra, Bilkent Symphony, Ankara Devlet Opera and Ballet Orchestra, CRR Symphony, Adana and Eskisehir Symphony Orchestras.
In other musical genres she has given concerts, recorded albums, played at festivals with Turkish and international artists such as Brazzaville, Portecho, Mario Frangoulis, Sertab Erener, Kerem Gorsev, Teoman, Ferhat Gocer, Z¸lf¸ Livaneli, Hande Yener, Sirhot, Aziza A, Deja Vu, Mode XL and Money Talks. Her playing has also been featured on movie soundtracks and commercial advertisements.
Ceren Aksan continues her career, performing in diverse venues and styles such as Electro Solo Violin Concerts, orchestral concerts with Borusan Philarmonic and Chamber orchestra, performing with worldwide artists as Vanessa MAE, Mario Frangoulis, Brazzaville, Sertab Erener, Teoman, Ferhat Gocer and alternative music artists, DJ's, giving recitals, playing in the orchestra for musicals, recording soundtracks for movies and television programs, music for commercials and other new projects in a continually evolving, fast-paced musical world. |
